The Muscatine Community School District is proud to offer our families the Dual-Language Immersion Program (DLIP)! This option includes Bilingual learning from 4-year-old preschool through 1st grade. 2nd grade will be added for the 2024-2025 school year! The preschool DLIP program is located at the Muskie Early Learning Center, with 1st & 2nd grade housed at Franklin Elementary School. Our Dual Language Immersion Program integrates native English and native Spanish speakers to receive academic instruction in Spanish (80% of the day) and English (20% of the day). Department of Education Visit at Franklin Elementary!
On Monday, December 11th, Department of Education (DOE) Consultant Stefanie Wager, who supports the Iowa Teachers from Spain program, stopped by Franklin Elementary School for a visit with Jorge Torres-Delgado, our 1st Grade Dual Language Teacher! Stefanie also met the other members of our 1st grade team, Emily Wolf and Emma Martin.
